GREETINGS
Hello, my name is Marko. My passions are Yoga and traditional Okinawan karate. I have been practising both disciplines for more than 16 years, which allowed me to receive a Yoga instructor certificate and a 3rd-degree black belt in Okinawan karate (Uechi-ryu Karatedo).
Studying health and sports sciences at the University of Novi Sad (Serbia) and Yoga at the International Yoga Academy (Belgrade, Serbia) gave me the confidence to start teaching Yoga and Karate. I have seven years of teaching experience, during which I worked with many different people — from professional athletes and high school students to individuals wishing to improve and maintain their health and vitality.
I am a member of Theravada Buddhist society since 2008, continuously deepen my medidation practice. In 2017, participated in opening the first Theravada Buddhist monastery in Serbia – one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries in Europe. There, I used to teach Buddhist meditation together with Pali canon study. I serve as a secretary of the Theravada Buddhist Community of Serbia.
As a PhD student at the University of Tsukuba's sports biochemistry and sports neuroscience laboratory, I have an excellent opportunity to learn more about the fascinating connections of body and mind through the lens of science.
My Yoga classes will help you to explore the potential for unity of your body and mind in a safe and mindful way. Regular Yoga practice can bring about a deeper sense of ease and relaxation, which is the base from which we can give wise and kind responses to the challenges we meet in everyday life.
